Season 5 Diablo 4

After two days of playing Season 5 I have to ask myself did we leave season 3 behind; really at best it is reskinned Season 4. Hell Tides is the theme once again, for the second season in a row. Same old hordes, same old hag in the middle of two areas hell tide is occurring. Same old threat meter; rinse and repeat. Really I didn’t expect anything different then what they delivered. Sure I read their hype. about improvements in equipment and drop rates, changes to make “uber” now “mythical” unique items relevant again. But hey I hope you enjoy jewelry, because right now for me that is 85% plus of drops I do get.

Currently a level 48 rogue, I have NOT once had a legendary bow drop, a handful of crossbows and other armor items and a TON of jewelry. I created the only two legendary bows I used so far by adding an aspect. I did however at one point picked up a common bow that did 212 more damage than my rare bow.

Who the heck does Blizzard use in their closed PTR’s? I know fanboys from their favorite content creators who play and test on servers where they get everything they need at high drop rates, auto advance in level by clicking a button while they run around doing end game content testing and high level playing. Surely you don’t think these kings and queens of Blizzard are going to every play the game in grunt mode like you have to. Then they will boast how great it is to play giving you builds with items that are perfect everything while you attempt to create their build using crappy drops and even worse equipment.

Blizzard and these content creators have become so used to playing high level end game they have no clue what drop rates actually are. When they do know they don’t care because they don’t play by the same rules you do.

But hey, we still have season 3 vampires running around, we have season 4 maiden to fight, although she now costs less to summon. Like that was a major issue at the end of 4. I had so many of those things it wasn’t possible to use them all before the season ended. And season 4 ran long. But hey, those content creators told Blizzard it should cost less for whatever reason. Hey PTR testers, if you played the game like us peons have to maybe your resources wouldn’t be a problem.

Money is still a MAJOR issue in this game. I mean level 48 and I cannot afford the 500,000 gold to upgrade my health to level 45? WTH… This game has money going out left and right at billions volume where spending 1.5 million is nothing and even early on you can wipe out 500,000 in no time to get decent affixes and tempers on your items; just to make the play tolerable.

Sure sell everything to get more money. Right then try to improve your equipment and find out you don’t have materials to improve it. WTH Blizzard? If the monetary of Diablo 4 is any reflection on the monetary policy of Blizzard with wages, no wonder they can not keep decent programmers and game developers; they will be 90 before they make a decent wage.

I’ve played Diablo all 27 years of the franchise. I watched as they all come and go, players change and Blizzard moved through the nightmare of ownership changes allowing us to see the steady progression of disappointment we see today. I have a right to complain how the have damaged this game so bad, I’ve bought every expansion, every version every time they decided to release something new for sale. I’ve seen outright crappy releases take years to become good and fun. I played through all of it and Diablo 4 will be no different as I already purchased the expansion early.

Now if Blizzard would stop bleeding content creators, start getting some casual, long time players who actually play the shit out of the game and are not trying to create the best build to you spend money watching someone else be great.

I often used Rhykker when he was on MaxRoll, however I have not found a good source for his builds today. But those days are gone too. The current build sites always simply make minor changes to previous with no access to previous versions of the build; nothing for eternal and only seasonal.

Reality is they all lost the casual players, the old timers are leaving being replaced by the younger generation raised to not ever complain about anything and always say nice things; after all someone may have butt hurt feelings and that is a major concern rather than the hundreds you wasted not getting what you paid for and developers and companies that could care a less about what players think and only about what money they make.
