Finding time to write is not quite as easy as we think. Life can get busy, there are things you are responsible for, family and often simply needing down time. Thoughts need to be shared more freely while putting down the division.
The fundamental principle of democracy, for all its problems and issues, is to guarantee the peaceful transition of power and spare the population violence and war. – Jeffery Tucker
One can only understand this if they choose to learn the history behind our founding. First things you should learn is our founding fathers did not want war with England, they wanted independence. They were not opposed to government, they were opposed to the King. They were tired of old ways of changing government through violence and civil wars. After all this was how governments changed hands for centuries in every nation. Citizens suffered and died so another ruler could take control.
Our constitution was to create a peaceful way the people could change the government any time through elections when a majority were not happy with the way the current government ran. Elections were scheduled frequently enough to allow changes when we wanted change. It ended the need for wars and the suffering and death of the civilian population to change the government they were not happy with.
So much has changed over the years. Changes coming from citizens no longer understanding what our constitution and form of government means. Why it was founded, what their goal was and how we all have failed to keep the gift they gave us. The gift so many died to obtain. Now fighting constantly between ourselves we see an assassination attempt on Ex-President Trump where no one is really surprised it happened.
The Cold War, that many today don’t know was even there, yet alone what it was about. How when it ended the world though maybe the U.S. would return to a peaceful republic. George Washington said “trading with all and making no political alliances with no one.” Yes, that was the vision and we have a very different reality today.
Leaders in the United States back then did not want anymore wars. They had lived through enough including civil wars in order to change government. They wanted a nation that would take care of themselves while remaining out of other governments. We saw where power breeds more power at the end of every war. The stronger the U.S. military got the more we got involved in trying to force other nations to change. We choose sides, then created proxy wars at times putting our own military on the ground. Not what those who founded this nation planned, wanted or envisioned. As a matter of fact they warned us many times if we did not remain good stewards of our government the very thing we see today would happen.
Years ago people immigrated to the United States because they believed in our government and way of life. This is unfortunately not the case in the majority of those coming here today. They intend on coming here to create unrest and potential civil war to make this nation what they want and are unable to make happen in the countries they come from. We cannot allow this to happen and must allow those who come here to become American come in.
I’m tired of hearing the violence. We can change things through elections and peacefully today. I’m not so sure that will be the case in the near future.
You want change, stop voting for someone just to stop someone else from being elected. Stop voting for a republican or democrat. Research a candidate from another party or independent. Research someone who has your vision and some shared values, goals and direction. Then go push for others to learn of your choice giving them information to make a more informed choice themselves. It doesn’t have to be this way, through violence. We can change it all peacefully but it does take work on our end.
No longer can we depend on 90% of the media. They are all telling stories lacking solid facts. Sensationalism and short attention span articles leaving you thinking you know what you need to know where you actually only know what they want to tell you in a manner you have decided you want to get it.
The most simple way to think about this. How can you call yourself “free” when you fear violence for what you believe?
